The collection channels a fresh vintage driving and cycling aesthetic that takes shape with smartly tailored shirts, sweaters, tweed blazers, heavy wool overcoats, and even a cycling jersey-inspired button-up.
Following the recent glimpse at the 2012 spring/summer collection from SASQUATCHfabrix‘s EOTOTO line is the release of the first pieces from the collection. Another of NIGO’s longtime friends steps up to help promote the latest collection from his HUMAN MADE brand. N.E.R.D’s Pharrell Williams first met NIGO back in 2002 during a trip to Japan, and later worked together with the streetwear legend to create Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream clothing lines. In this photoshoot, Pharrell he manages to express a different, more relaxed side of the collection unlike previous looks. Spring/Summer 2012 brings the introduction of the newest 02DERIV STORM PARKA-NYLON TUSSER GORE-TEX 3L. Despite the longwinded title, the tenants of the surf-inspired jacket are rather simplistic in their execution — water-resistant durability and contemporary aesthetics. Boasting two spacious anterior pockets, the GORE-TEX-constructed outerwear piece is mocked up in a navy blue shell and positioned alongside complementary bold red hits that trace their origins to the taped zippers, cuff Velcro, and lining.
The Indigenos from French brand Veja are returning for Spring/Summer 2012. Made from ecologically tanned suede, the Veja Indigenos are a classic high-top style with leather detail at the back. The predominantly British made collection for spring summer puts the emphasis on casual tailoring and classic wardrobe pieces. Particular highlights include the casual blazers and lightweight outerwear, but across the board, there’s a nice combination of simple, clean designs and nice detailing which belie its high street price.
